Position: Contracts Manager
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Contracts Manager will oversee the execution and administration of contract-related processes to ensure efficiency and compliance across the organization. Reporting to the Senior Director of Contracts, this role is responsible for supporting global contract activities, including negotiations, policy development, contract lifecycle management, and the oversight of existing agreements.
This position collaborates across departments and plays a key role in implementing best practices for contract management while aligning with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Standardize contract policies and procedures to promote uniformity across the organization.
- Develop and maintain contract templates tailored to business needs, updating as necessary.
- Conduct legal reviews of contracts, amendments, and other related documents.
- Support contract record-keeping processes using centralized systems and tools to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Enhance the use of contract management tools to provide data-driven insights and analytics on contract trends.
- Monitor regulatory changes and ensure they are incorporated into contracts as needed, including drafting amendments and facilitating communication regarding updates.
- Update and distribute policies on contract approvals and signing authority, including associated checklists.
- Provide training to internal teams on contract processes and management best practices.
- Manage the entire contract lifecycle, including monitoring, renewals, and termination processes to ensure timely execution and compliance.
- Provide legal support during commercial negotiations and RFP preparation as required.
- Assist with vendor onboarding to address legal, compliance, and internal control requirements, and support offboarding to ensure compliance with data, asset, and other contractual obligations.
- Coordinate approvals from internal risk stakeholders, such as insurance, security, and privacy teams.
- Support vendor risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential legal or compliance risks.
- Oversee contracts acquired through mergers or acquisitions to ensure integration and compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong understanding of business operations, markets, and industry-specific standards.
- Advanced negotiation and contract drafting skills with a solid understanding of the implications of contract language.
- Proven ability to identify and mitigate risks in contractual terms.
- Effective problem-solving skills and experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to influence and collaborate with both internal and external partners.
- Broad understanding of the contract lifecycle and how internal roles contribute to contract execution and management.
- Familiarity with commercial terms and industry norms.
- Experience in managing existing contracts to ensure compliance with terms and protecting organizational rights.
- Comfortable working in a matrixed organizational structure.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a role focused on contract management or a related function.
